Tech Page.....

I was wondering if it would be possible to do a Tech Page kinda in the same format of the TRS Tech Page ( http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/index.php ).....It would be a heck of a lot easier to do this than to have to search through the How-To section.....since there hasn't been a new How-To posted in it in over 6 months maybe give 2-3 different people the responsibility of creating the page......

it would make finding things a 100x easier to find...espically if it were divided up into sections (interior, exterior, engine, suspension, frame, etc).....you could even leave them in post form and then link the links back to the locked thread...

I think it would be cool as well, or just a page with the basic info on all the different Rangers. I'd be willing to help out with that.

there have been over 25 how to's submitted by members in the last 6-12 months and only 6 of them have made it in

there needs to be more mods to do how-to submissions and they need to be organized on 1 page, not spread out over 2 pages with no organization....

Agreed. I knew I'd seen quite a few How-to's, but never seen them added.

After another thread like this, no mod is going to care what Maurice wants done

This was a good idea, but you (Maurice) are being rude to the Mod that Christian made incharge of the howto section.

i really dont understand what the BFD is here. this is the "Site Related Comments, Questions and Suggestions" forum, not the "b1tch fest," or "gripe zone."
you may have started your post with a question/suggestion, but you chose to end it with a backhanded comment about andrews performance in the how-to section. when andrew chose to correct your false statement, you pulled a bait-n-switch and changed your gripe. seems kinda petty if you ask me.

the way i see it, as soon as any thread in this section turns ugly, it should be disregarded. which is probly why you have not received any other mod/admin response to your demands. comments and suggestions on a free site should never be even remotely insulting. you are a user, not a customer. use what is here on the site for free and remember that those helpin run this place are volunteers; they have lives aside from tendin this forum....i know, i know, get more volunteers, right? maybe thats not as easy to do as it is to say, especially when everyone can see exactly how thankless a job moderating actually is.

seems everytime I or anyone else (well depends who hoh are) makes a suggestion Andrew jumps in and is the only person to critise the idea.....

Why have a site comments and suggestions section if for one, no one pays attention to the suggestions and they seem to always to be answered by a remark in the way of "your idea is no good"......

Ban me or delete my account, I could care less....

You haven't done anything to become banned at this time

If you feel the need to leave, do it on your own.

i didn't know andrew was in charge of the how-to section, and didn't see Maurice coming off offensive towards him... he just wondered if anyone else other than Andrew paid attention to these things since he's the only one that answers them.

with that said though... the how-to section is kinda lacking.. for some reason it never got a good start on this site.. new people take the job on, and nothing gets past the first few rolls...

a tech page could be a great idea.. i just don't see it happening because noone dedicates enough time to completing anything like that on here (not pointing the finger at Andrew).

after thinking about it for a few minutes... how feasible would this idea be....

HIRE... someone to create a tech page. shelling out some of the contribution money collected from the paying members would be a great investment in the site, plus it would be great motivation for someone to actually do something and finish something. when it is finished, they'll submit it to whoever. upon completion and acceptance, they will be paid whatever was agreed upon.

THEN... if the site felt it was necessarry, make that person the mod incharge of the new tech page section... same could apply with the how-to section.

these help sections or how-to sections or tech sections never get a strong base because we're relying on volunteer's..... people have good hearts and good intentions in mind, it just becomes a matter of time before their priorities drag them away from their volunteer duties here on the site. i'm willing to bet some sort of payment upon completion would garuntee more compeleted jobs.

Originally, Jason was running the howto section, but he never had time, and Christian brought in Andrew

Hire someone? This site is run strickly on volunteers

And the contributor money is for the site server and upkeep, unless Christian wants to UP the cost to contribute, I doubt we could pay someone to do a tech section
