Interesting. I've never received or shipped a single package DMC (Formerly DHL). It seems they are mostly big city. Every time I go to N.O. or downtown Baton Rouge I see them, but never in the industriaplex, where our shop is.

I see DHL trucks around still. They are #1 in the world for international shipments. Never heard of DMC.

Everytime I have had a order shipped through DHL it ends up switching hands to USPS. I guess i cant really say anything about DHL.

DHL's US shipments are strictly international. so you can use DHL to ship into or out of the US, just not totally within it. and I do believe they have some contract with UPS to deliver their packages in the US.

UPS should change their name to DOWN=dumbasses only work now. Because it seems they cant do anything right. Up until this year I never had a problem with them and preferred them. However they have lost all my business since they "lost" my stx grill/shell I bought from a member and still haven't given a return for insurance after more then 2 months.

If your thinking the member screwed me over he didn't. I had a tracking number and it stated it had been scanned in to my city. Never showed up and I talked to my driver and he told me they dont actually do physical scans of the item. They "guess" when its supposed to show up and it automatically says its there. If they were to physically scan every item when it gets to a location and when it leaves they would NEVER lose anything.

what i meant was its one thing they screwed up. you said they cant do ANYTHING.

I also find it hard to believe they don't physically scan items. how do you think they get from one place to another?

That came strait from the UPS driver. I was also told that from the lady I talked to on the phone. They dont scan everything. That is WHY they lose things.

I realize that, but the package wasn't small by any means. It was a grille shell with the stx grille. More then likely someone who works there stole it or was careless and broke it. I use to work for fedex loading and unloading. Most people who work there just toss the packages without any care. However it seems to be lately they are losing more and more packages.

Have you ever seen "Forrest Gump"?

**** happens.

You won't get your money unless you seriously try to get it. That doesn't mean call up there and act like a dick. Just try. Everyday, call up and see what they say. I can only imagine the aggravation, but me personally, I would take off work a couple hours early and go up to the local office and speak with management if I was having trouble getting my money.(depending on how much it was)

It's out of my hands. Pedro has been trying to get them to give him the refund. Its not only UPS being the problem. He went through staples to send it UPS and both are giving him the run around.

Sonic,

First of all, the actual shipper of the item is entitled to the refund of shipping charges. If Pedro took it to staples to have them prep it and ship it for him, then staples is entitled to the shipping refund not Pedro. Now staples should step up and make it right with Pedro, but that's between him and staples.

Can you tell me what the last couple of scans were that were placed on your package? I don't know why you were told what you were told by your driver, but every package in UPS's system is physically scanned either by a computer or a human being all along its path thru the shipment process. You may only see "arrival scan" and departure scan" on your package for a lot of the scans but these are all physical scans that take place so you know what hub your package is at and whether its been unloaded from the trailer and reloaded in a different trailer.

Has UPS done any sort of a trace on the package? The shipper has to instigate the trace on the package and UPS follows its physical scans to determine where this package is if it hasn't been stolen. If on a lark it was stolen, UPS knows who the last people were to touch the package before it disappeared of the radar so they will follow up with these people.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Yes they already did the trace. Gone through the full 9 yards. Pedro is the one who packaged the item and handed it over to be shipped. UPS/staples just keep giving us the run around on it..

I used to work for UPS in package sorting department, yes they suck, whatever...
UPS tends to have difficulty with delivering packages with automotive parts to apartments, actually pretty much any parts to apartments. And usually with these types of parts, if you are not home, they will not deliver, and after two attempts (usually at different times when you are never available), they will require you to pickup from their facility.

Hey, by the way, who doesn't enjoy a 20 mile drive in a Ford Ranger, lol.

Biggest peeve I've had with UPS is they mutilate boxes, and often the contents. It seems UPS are experts in the field of turning a once solid, sound box into an accordion.

I had them put a fork truck right through the middle of a $10,000 recording console a few years ago, and they still delivered it like nothing happened. Retards.

i work for fedex and if we cant find an address we just type it into powerpad that we cant find it and it goes to a dispatcher and they look up customers number and call them and send a message back with either directions or how to spot house or apt easily that and at an appartment if persons not home i leave a door tag and deliver to office... ups does suck once i had something delivered they knocked once and i could barely hear it i got to the door within 20 seconds and he was already walking away...
