How much for new plugs/wires?

Could someone give me an estimate of how much a new plug/wire job would cost? I'm just looking for a ball park number. Thanks.

If you do it yourself your looking at about $40ish for plugs and $50ish for wires. I would say $100 is a pretty safe guess.

the plugs will be the fluctuating part. 2 bucks to 8 or even 12 bucks per.... wires for generics will be 50 to 60

Just changed mine a few weeks ago...

Wires were about $30 & plugs were less than $20, note that I changed mine myself in about an hour (new personal record). Got the parts from O'reilly Auto.

Ford wanted $5.99 per plug, about $70 for wires & 1.5 to 2 hrs labor @ $75 per hour.... needless to say, I didn't mind getting dirty to save money.

This would be for a 2000 Ford Ranger 2.5L 4 cylinder. I read that these engines are a pain when it comes to changing the plugs and wires.

Yeah, they can be a pain. But your better off to do it yourself than to have someone do it for you.
If you want really good quality stuff, then its going to cost you anywhere from $50 to $150. But if you just want to get some plugs in there and don't want to spend that much money, then you can easily get some plugs and wires for about $30.
