Damn thieves.

Sooooo I'm out of town for work right now and I got a text from my cousin. See, I am in Phoenix at the moment and being a member of the multiple car club I had to put my vehicles somewhere while I am gone. My Cougar is non running and in the garage, my Mustang is at the airport parking structure, and I left my Ranger at my Aunt's house so they could use it if they needed to and for security.

Well, her text read "Um. Got some bad news about ur truck"

I thought she wrecked it or something. Nope.

Someone stole my recently tinted tails. Sooooo this happened in Los Alamitos, CA. Which means that whoever stole the tails was probably in the Long Beach, Seal Beach or Buena Park-ish areas. I know their neighbor has a bunch of friends with Rangers too, but I don't want to assume anything yet.

Sooooo if anyone sees a set for sale out there, or if someone aquires a set recently... I would appreciate the tip.

Here are the tails when I shot them. If you find a set, I'll take them back without question, but I will also know the set when I see them. Because I use quality paint, they will pass a solvent test, and one is slightly darker than the other. They look fine but I notice these things.

I left it unlocked because they needed to use the truck to move a big *** sink.

My bad.

My cousin said that her neighbor came back at like 1:30am and said the truck was still fine. They live in a pretty quiet neighborhood too so I'm sure whoever did it wanted them.

You know... another Ranger owner. Who else would steal some STOCK lights? sure they were tinted but they were just stockers. I've been to their house before when the neighbors had like 4 Rangers parked out front. Some of the guys had tinted tails too. Mine just looked better.

Man code says you never **** with another man's vehicle. However, I'm already gonna get a replacement set and I will tint them again. If I find my set on another truck I will smash the lights. Once again... yes, I can identify my work so I will be sure.

You can get one. I had one on my Ranger, it was around 30 bucks IIRC.

Yeah they are a breeze to pull off. I usually lock the tailgate too. I just gave my cousin the spare keys and left it unlocked because I don't think I have the tailgate key on the ring with the spares.

When I get back home I'm gonna buy some Security Torx bits.

Why not steal them back instead of smash them?

That blows, dude.
Fortunately they didn't mess with anything else. If you happen to track them down, you shouldn't be as nice to them. Take them back but bash in everything else on their truck. Just make sure not to leave the Ranger at your aunt's house again after that! lol

You know, the sad thing is that my Aunt lives in a MUCH nicer area than I do lol. Nobody messes with the truck at home. I live in the barrio ese! lol

Nahh. I post pics of all of my cars online. I think some friends of the neighbor just saw the tails and thought they would look reel sik on his truk brah. Those jerks.

I work for a major paint company so I used some of our single stage black mixed in with some of our clearcoat. All catalized urethane products so they are as UV resistant as the paint on the rest of the car, and things like laquer thinner and acetone won't wash it off. Good stuff.

You know, the thing that pisses me off most about this whole thing is that if the neighbor dudes are the ones that stole the lights, If they just bothered to ASK me, I probably would have tinted their lights for FREE. I just like doing stuff like that sometimes and I don't really ever even charge for things like that anymore. It's not a money issue, i just like to do it because I am in the position to and I can.
