I have a 96 Ranger and there is what looks like may be a small vent on the dash left of the glovebox door. I looked in my manual and it doesn't say what it is. I ask because the piece that goes in there is missing and I would like to replace and I don;t know what to search for. Thanks in advance, Billy

 

it's nothing on the rangers. it's for the electronic hvac in the explorers. i have a spare one in light grey if you want it. pay for the padded envelope and usps and it's yours.

I am missing the same thing on my 2002 Ranger FX4.
Someone told me it has to do with the AC. So, you say it is only for the Exploders?
And the Rangers have nothing there, except the little fake vent?

 

yep. it's for the temp sensor on the electronic controlled hvac in the explorers. the new rangers (07?-current) don't have that hole.
