Does anyone know what the actual name of the cross member that the tow hooks attach to on tbar rangers? Anyone know where I can find one?

 

front cross memeber? and i would think that would be something that you would have to get from a junk yard but im not sure.

 

The Ford dealer told me that it's not available new except as part of a complete frame. A junkyard may be your only option but the crossbar has 5 welds to the frame rail on each side - at least that's how my 2003 is. It's hard to remove it intact without considerable finesse and that's in short supply at most boneyards. Maybe if you offered enough money, you could convince them to cut off the front of the frame for you.

 

I thought it was just bolted on there. Guess I didn't look at it enough. Thanks for the heads up looks like I'm gonna have to break out the welder!

yup. welded...go hack one off and weld it on.
