Number of Bed Bolts?

Number of Bed Bolts?
When did Ford add 4 extra bed bolts? There are now 10 bed bolts my 2010 Ranger, my 2001 had only 6. When and curious as to why? Just wondering.

they did it either 2009 or 2010. i think 2010 tho

'09 is when they did the change. Why? No clue but one thing I do know is the "new" bolts are in the same spots as the bed support crossmember touches the frame.

well atleast now you get to use ALL your blocks and bolts on a BL!!

If I think back now, I remember that the bed of my 2001 Ranger always looked crooked. I guess the 4 extra bolts was the fix?

Note: Long bed models use 8 bolts and BL kits include bolts and blocks to cover reg cab/long bed's. Standard '08 and older beds are 6 bolt.
