Bellows Boot on Rack Question

So at the Tri-State meet we changed my inner tie-rod on the one side cause mine was bent. We put a new clip on the bellows boot base and just reused the pinch clip for the end that clamps the tie rod.

Whenever I turn my wheel the tie rods extend out like they should, the one boot compresses, and the one we replaced just slides down the inner tie rod. So it's not holding onto the tie rod like it should.

I put a hose clamp on there instead of the pinch clip to see if it would stop it then air was trapped in my power steering and it shot fluid all over the place out the reservoir vent hole.

So it seems to be working fine it just doesn't seem right. The still factory side stays firmly clamped and compresses and decompresses. The side we worked on slides up and down the tie rod shaft. It makes a hisses sound like it is leaking air while turning but it did that before anyway. The pinch clamp seems secure and the boot's not getting any debris in it.

Am i just paranoid or is this not right. I'll try to get a video up later so you can visualize better.

Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish once you put your mind to it (or in gear) ?

Yeah I put my mind to looking at my bank account and deciding just go to a mechanic to check it out. lol

He just aligned the front end and that fixed it. My steering wheel was sitting at 45 degrees to the right when I drove straight and the steering felt loose. When he aligned it all the air pushed out of the system and it tighten back up. The boot clamped itself back in place. $50 later. Pretty happy though!
