1. Remove K&N filter
2. Clean oil off of MAF, throttle body and intake tube
3. disconnect battery with headlight switch on for 30 minutes
4. Throw K&N in garbage
5. Install Motorcraft air filter

Buy K&N air filter cleaning kit. Should be $9 or so at auto parts store. It has the instructions for cleaning filter.

every car i own will have a K&N in it.
The Crown Victorias at my job have them. since my city is broke, we go 200k miles on a crown vic before we throw them out. We go on car chases, we ram other cars and leave them idling all day and full throttle almost all day.
no problems.

all my cars have never had a maf issue from K&N. Utilize your common sense, if its soaking with oil when you get it new (they tend to be over-oiled from the factory) lay it down on a towel or something for an hour or so before you install it.

i honestly believe that unless its soaking with oil, there will be no problem.

the smoothness, power and drive-ability i have gained from the K&N has made me a life time customer.

agreed however alot of people just leave the switch on. 30 minutes is to reset the computer.

I think Justin's being sarcastic. Why would the computer need to be reset?

Sarcastic?

The KAM (Keep Alive Memory) needs to be powwered down in order to reset the fuel trim that was thrown out of wack by the POS K&N. 30 Minutes is directly out of the Ford PC/ED for an OBDII vehicle
