Shallow toolbox

I was wanting to put a truck toolbox in the bed, but don't want to lose the ability to carry full 4'x8' sheets of plywood. Does anyone make a toolbox that is shallow enough so that a sheet of plywood will fit above the wheel wells but below the toolbox?

that's pretty much impossible. You don't have an 8 ft bed anyway though so you'll just have to let it overhang regardless.

Yeah if you have a toolbox and want to haul a 4x8 just put the tailgate up and slide it in. I have done it in my old ranger multiple times.

Yes, sliding it in with the tailgate up is what I want to do. But all the toolboxes I have come across are so deep that when the plywood is resting on the wheel wells it will bump into the front of the toolbox and not under it so the plywood can slide all the way to the front of the bed. That way only two feet of the plywood would extend out of the bed and I wouldn't have to put a flag on it.

I had a delta and now have a betterbuilt and I could carry about 3" thick of ply or rok.
Boxes were gullwing cross boxes.

Just if anyone was wondering, a Kobalt slimline 12" toolbox allows for 3 sheets of 3/4" plywood beneath it.
