I have an Innova scanner. My truck is 2001 Mazda b3000. I think it fit I'll try again, It's a Ranger, really so can't be much different from your 2003. I thought those ports were standard from make to make.

Hi it does not seem so some is different. Are you saying the port for the Mazda b3000 is the same?

As far as I know obdII scanner ports after 96 are industry standard. Mine fits my b3000 and Buick. Maybe you have the plug upside down ,I do that sometimes.

All OBD2 ports are the same, required by law
OBD2 was required on all vehicles sold in the US or Canada from 1996 and up, regardless of where they were made

What is not the same is the opening to connect a reader, on some vehicles you may need to remove the whole panel not just the cover for the OBD2 connection

You can buy an OBD2 extension cable, these often have a smaller end that fits in the smaller opening
