Keyless entry code
Keyless entry code
Hey guys,
This 04 picked up a couple of months ago has a keypad on the drivers door. IS it an add on or was it factory?(I have key fob)
If it is factory anyone know where the master code would be?

I don't think it is a "Factory" option on Rangers but it was a Dealer Option and it is basically a wireless fob mounted on the door
So it has a battery like a fob does, and it has a code number that activates unlock, or lock, like pushing unlock button on the fob
Accessory add-on page seen here: https://accessories.ford.com/actuator-asy.html
Ford Dealer should be able to tell you more about it
I don't have that info
You would program it to the keyless entry system the same as adding a fob, but would need the code numbers to do that
And batteries are most likely dead after 14 years, so they would need to be changed

Ok, I put one of those on my wifes fusion and my other 04 ranger. It just looks different than them, maybe it is an earlier version
Could be a special order, but have never seen that on Rangers, just Explorers
And there are non-Ford keypads that can be added to any model vehicle, they have their own receiver inside that activates the door locks

someone must have wired a factory style one in then. Rangers never came with the door keypad.
My bad. Just got poking and prodding some more. It is just a double sided tape on unit. When I first started prying I must have saw break in the tape and it looked like a hole in the door
Carry on!!!
Carry on!!!

I once spent $400 to buy a set of factory 1977-1981 F-Series/Bronco slotted mags because I wanted my 1980 F150 to be 100% original in appearance. Probably the same reason.
