Need some help with rear brakes/axle identification.

1996 Ranger XLT, 5sp 2wd. Bought the truck knowing it needed parking brake hardware and had a rear axle replaced but having trouble identifying it as I think it may be incorrect.

Sticker on the door says it had a 7.5in 3.73 open diff from the factory.

The current axle has no ID tag but, does still look like a 7.5. It has 9in drums but, the odd part is, the factory 14x6 wheels don't fit over the hub. The center bore of the wheels is too small for the axle. The previous owners used spacers to push the wheel mounting face passed the hub. I drove it home 20.mons without issue but, I'd like to get rid of the spacers.

Any idea what donor the axle from?
