Long story short i bought some spindles off CL. I was told they were Doetsch, and the parts number branded on them confirmed that.... or so I thought. Upon further investigation my spindles appear to be identical to fabtech, yet with a doetsch part number of 589810 on them. So first question, why? Is that a universal part number?

Second, and most important, are these spindles for an XLT truck instead of an edge? He told me they are not for an edge model but I don't exactly trust what he said.

So what do i own? How do i know the difference between a spindle built for a torsion bar equipped ranger or a coil sprung one?

 

Edge (torsion bar) and XLT (coil spring) will have a different size hole for the upper control arm. The Edge has a bigger hole, XLT is smaller.

Your spindles look exactly like my doetsch

 

Yeah the upper balljoint hole is smaller for an XLT. I'm not sure what the exact dimensions are though. To me the spindle looks a lot like Fabtech, but I haven't seen any recent pictures of the doetsch spindles.

Yeah they look like Doetsch to me too. They don't look too much like my old Fabtech spindles.

 

those look alot like my springtech ones...which I believe is the same as doetsch

 

I own a 1999 ford ranger xlt with a body lift I recently had a issue where my spindle broke but the spindle is a after market but I can not find or identify what it is mine a coil over spring I've look up the port number and still nothing I'm lost and need help please..in the pic it the one on the truck I need help with identifying it
