Door Sensor

I have a 2006 Ranger XLT 4.0 with 79k miles. It has always had an beep that reminded me to turn of the headlights when I opened my door after I shut off the truck. It stopped working. Any thoughts on how to repair and what part I need?

Does the Door Ajar light come on when drivers door is open?
If so then drivers door switch is OK
If it doesn't then door switch is either unplugged(inside the door), or door switch is bad
You need to remove door panel and door latch to replace the switch, its at the bottom of the latch, its a twist lock fitting

Its called a chime module, but can't find its location in a 2006 Ranger, stop by a Ford Dealer and ask them to look up the location

This is assuming the chime doesn't work at all, it should also sound if you leave key in ignition(OFF) and open drivers door, if that also doesn't cause chime to sound then its a bad chime module

I see that the dome light does not come on when I open the drivers door. It may be stuck or broke. So I bought a new one. Expensive little jewel.
