door ajar light

door ajar light

is there an easy way to disable or disconnect a faulty door ajar sensor wo/ tearing my door apart on my 02 xlt ? 1st time I've been on a forum, not sure I know what the heck I'm doing.

The sensor is on the door latch, not like the older ones that were on the hinged side, simple push button.

So yes, have to tear door apart, BUT..............in most cases you just need to spray silicone, WD40 or similar lube in the door latch and the switch will start working again.
It is recommended to do this once a year, on each door

I gave all the latches a good soaking last night w/wd40 then opened anclosed them at least a dozen times with no results, but after sitting over night it worked. thanks al1260
