99 Ford Ranger fog lamps

In the process of replaceing my fog lamps on my 99 ranger when I tried to turn them on they wouldn't come on. I checked the fuses under the hood and were ok but I haven't checked the two relays 8 & 10. However when checked my Ranger owners guide they mentioned a fog lamp switch but for the life of me I can't seem to find any on my P/U. Is this a special feature on some vehicles and not others? Granted one or both of the relays could be bad but is there a sequence as to how to turn on the fog lights if you don't have a fog light switch?

1999 Ranger would have a Fog light switch to the right of radio and a little lower, seen here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...zels-22407.jpg

headlights have to be on to use fog lights
Wiring diagram below

The fog light relay part is powered by low beams being on, just fuse 8 having power
The switch on the dash GROUNDS the relay to activate it, fog light power comes from fuse 4 in engine bay fuse box, with fog light relay

To Supercab 2011 I don't remember if they ever did or not, the reason I replaced them was because one of them had fallen out of the bracket holding them. Anyway this morning I followed RonD advise and sure enough they came on like gangbusters. Just glad everything else was ok just operator error. Once again thanks for the help.

Good stuff

Thanks for the update

Never cared for the way the fog lights worked in this application, i.e. low beams on to get fog lights
The reason fog lights are low is so in theory they are below the the fog level so light can travel farther out without as much reflection back causing "white out"

Would have preferred that fog light relay was powered by Parking light circuit, so they could be turned on just with Parking lights on, OR headlights on as needed, Drivers choice
Wouldn't be to hard to change that
Brown Park light wires are in the engine bay, easy access, and a relay is only 0.5amp draw so wouldn't bother that circuit powerwise
The dark blue/light green fog light relay power wire from fuse 8 is also in engine bay at the fuse box
Cut and splice, lol
