My truck dies wen I turn the key over

So I was grounding stuff and I dropped a wrench it landed on my starter solenoid and bridged the terminals there was a lot of sparks I got a new solonoid and put it in. Wen I turned the key over there was one click and everything died and I’d have to wait a couple minutes and everything powers back on but now I turn my key over there is no clicking and the truck just dies wen I turn the key on but wen I turn the key back off everything powers on but wen I turn any electrical stuff on it dies till I turn it off I don’t know wat the problem is

it is a 1996 Ford ranger 4.0 v6 4x4

Welcome to the forum

Starter solenoid is on the top of the starter motor, right?

Or do you mean the starter relay on the inner fender by the battery?

If you are losing all electric power then either the Positive battery cable or the negative battery cable is losing its connection
All the lights use maybe 5-10 amps of power
Starter motor needs 60 AMPS all at once
So when you turn the key to START and poor battery connection will heat up and disconnect, NO starter and NO lights

So focus your attention on Positive battery cable connection to battery and to starter Relay
And larger Negative battery cable at battery and where it connects to engine

I fixed the problem I hope

So it turned out to being the battery cables being loose and the cables being dirty everything works but it has been sitting on a slant for two weeks and hasn’t been started so it isn’t turning on it cranks anyone have suggestions on a cold start

How much of a slant?
How much gas in the tank?

Just wondering if the pick-up tube is sitting in gas.
