Tightening torsion bars for a front end lift

I’m just still wondering the affects of tightening the torsion bars, does it and/or will it mess up the front suspension. I have an 08 rwd sport, the front end sags a bit and I’m thinking of lifting it maybe .5”-1”. Just checking if there’s anything that could go wrong before I do it. I know I will need an alignment because it will knock the geometry out but I need one anyways.

Just that little bit should be fine

The torsion bars are the "springs" for the front body, the weight of the body and frame push the springs down, so springs are set for the weight of the body and frame
When you "crank the spring" the front goes up because you are, in essence, cranking up the weight rating of that spring, if you crank it too much then ride will get stiffer because the weight of the body and frame can no longer "push the spring down", spring weight rating is too high

This happens with the rear leaf strings in pickups, pickups have a load rating, 1/2 ton, 1,000pounds, so they need springs rated for rear body and frame weight PLUS 1,000lbs, so they can be a stiff ride in the back, they are over sprung, you can change to lower rated springs and add a overload spring in the rear, so better ride empty and still have the load rating
