Bought a New 2021 Ranger

Wife and I have been discussing downsizing from our motor home and Subi that we tow to a pickup and smaller 5th wheel. Required my selling my 2009 Ranger, and got a crazy good price for it
Local dealer received 2 new Rangers, both Supercab, one 4x4 and one 2 wd.
Bought the 2 wheel drive, 2021 Ranger Lariat Sport, pretty much loaded out with all the bells n whistles.
I'll get some pics up later, but am very satisfied with the rig, the dealer, and sale of my 2009.
Hated to let it go, but just no need to keep it.

One pic before I detail it out to my specs...
Still learning how to use everything...wife is the techno geek fimilar with all the tech stuff. She's trying her best to put up with my basic understanding of "stuff".
Biggggy change up from my 2009 base Ranger !!!

Congrats on the new purchase! At least you were able to keep the personalized plates and they still make sense. Haha.

Crazy trying to buy one thats available...was initially looking for a simple XL Supercab with a tow package and one other package that would have listed for under $29,000 before any incentives.
Found several but at dealers not in my area, and everyone refused to transfer their stock as their so hard to come by.
Actually found this one at my small local Ford dealer. Truck was manufactured on March 21, and dealer got it in first week of May. They must have been hiding it as it only had 4 miles on it when I test drove it.
Absolutely perfect, not even a spec of surface on the frame/rear end/front suspension. Looked like it came out of the factory yesterday.
And, dealers are not "discounting anything off of sticker. As stated, "if ya don't get it now, someone else will get it tomorrow, and we have NO idea when we'll be getting more in".
But, they are honoring Ford incentives, interest rates are ridiculously low..got 0.000 %.

Well, it's been 2 weeks, and I look for excuses to go to the store... "Hey hon, I need to run up to the store for some pencil ereasers...be back in an hour".
This thing is a blast to drive. Even forgetting all the bells n whistles, just flat out driving it is fun. For a truck, acceleration is just wild, 0-60 just one second slower than my 2007 Mustang GT
Was sorry to see the 2009 go, but our needs changed and dictated getting something modern and with power.
Already added all the necessary stuff and had bed liner sprayed in today.

I just bought the very same truck only it’s a 2019 with less than 9,000 miles, otherwise it looks perfect in the darker grey color. Probably paid almost as much a you but that what’s happening these days. I'm with you on all the tech stuff and the DW is no help. Yesterday I installed a Prodigy 2 brake controller. Still having trouble getting enough voltage back to the trailer brakes. Have you got to that step yet?

Think I’ll run to the store and get some floor mats,

Haven't messed with a brake control yet as we are still a month or two away from ordering a travel trailer...still have our motorhome and have a month long trip upcoming in Sept.
Going to look at a specific trailer manufacturer in a week or two....140 miles away, to get estimate on a build and how long it will take to get r done.

Good for you. Maybe by the time you get the trailer the Ford dealers will better be able to figure out how all the wiring in the ranger works. They don’t have a clue around here.

Voltage to the trailer brakes is variable, if you're not moving I would expect very low voltage at the plug.

It depends on how fast you are slowing down, the faster you slow down, the more voltage you get.

If you were only doing 20mph and slowing down for a stop light light, you wouldn't want full voltage to the trailer brakes, the trailer brakes would probably lock up.

The problem is that a newer Ranger only sends 12 volt power back to the 7 pin connector once it senses that a trailer is connected. I hooked up a Prodigy 2 and have checked that 12 volts is going into the prodigy but when I go to set it up and do the drive 25 mph, with the gain at the highest setting and pull the manual slide all the way over I can’t get the brakes to even come close to locking up, the trailer just feels like it has minimum brakes being applied. I will adjust the brakes tomorrow but doubt that is the problem as I have towed less than 1,000 miles since it was last done. Not sure what I will do next as I’m scheduled for a 1000 mile round trip in a few days.
