I have a 1998 ranger, 2wd, auto, 2.5l. Looking for a frame out of a junkyard to fix my left side in the rear and wondering which years I should be looking at? I have a guy that can sew frames back together.

 

Rangers have a 2 piece frame, front and rear, separation point is the front of bed/back of cab

Front section came in 4 versions
2WD regular cab
2WD extended cab
4WD regular cab, boxed frame
4WD extended cab, boxed frame

Rear section just had 2 versions
6ft bed, regular or extend cab used same rear frame and 6ft bed
7ft bed(long bed), only came on regular cab models, rear axle was 6" farther back

In 1995 Rangers got EVAP system moved to behind the gas tank, so 1995-2011 6ft bed should have those mounting brackets if not rusted away, lol

 

I have a single cab, looked underneath and dont see any bolts or large rivets anywhere that would indicate it separates. Need to put it up on ramps again and go at it with better light.

 

Right at the spring hangers, those rivets that hold the spring hanger on, also hold the front and rear half of the frames together.

 

My bad I just came back from looking underneath it more and you're right, right at the front leaf hangers there's a separation. Thanks for you help.
