Hey hey
just picked up and 88 ranger with only 43000miles (although I am a bit suspicious of odo rollback)
I Have a broad understanding of engines but I need help with all the support systems valves, sensors, vacuum. Does any body know where I could find a exploded diagram of a 2.9? Or anything that will let me identify all the hoses, cables, valves, tubes.
You want to get a 1988 Ford Ranger/Bronco II EVTM(electric vacuum troubleshooting manual), Ford made and sent these out with "Shop Manual" sets for every model of every year, but these are often sold separately
Only get 1988 as every year will have slight changes
They are basically free, since you buy them, use them, then re-sell them for what you paid, just like the person you are buying it from did
Most, if not all, Public libraries now have on-line portals
You need a Library card(number) and a PIN to log in, have to set that up at a local branch, its FREE, well pre-paid if you pay Taxes, lol
There will be an Auto Repair section
It has most years, and most vehicles, factory diagrams you can see and print as needed
