1990 Ford Ranger

I don't really know if this is the place to ask this question.? But here it goes I have 1990 ranger 4.0 2 wheel drive automatic transmission 1 thru 3 rd with OD. Well I have a 94 transmission is the flywheel the same will it bolt up to the block. Any help would be great.

Welcome to the forum

Yes, the 1990-1996 4.0l OHV used the same crank, so flexplate/flywheel are interchangeable in those years
Automatics use a flexplate on the crankshaft
Manuals use a flywheel

In 1997, and up, 4.0ls got a new crank design that has an 8 bolt flexplate/flywheel connection, instead of the 6 bolt in earlier years
