2005 ranger p0171,p0174 and p1450 error codes help
Hello, I’m having an issue with my truck and I don’t have the experience to know what exactly is going on. So the truck had an issue with a code related to a vac leak. There was a hole in the hose from the charcoal filter to some sort of sensor, so I replaced that and reset the codes. And then shortly after that I started having issues getting the truck to crank on. I turn the key and it takes over 5 seconds to get it to start and when it does it acts likes it going to die off and eventually stabilizes. And new codes showed up p0171/p0174/p1450. Now these codes as I understand e related to the truck running lean. So I hooked a fuel pressure gauge up and have issues with the fuel pressure getting up to 60psi some times. Some times it will start fine other times it won’t and does not seem to be related to temp. I also then tested the fuel pressure on the discharge of the fuel filter to the fuel rail? And that’s when I realized that after turning the truck off the psi drops to zero very quickly. I realized that is a problem. I attempted to test the amps of the fuel pump at the interia switch on the passenger side of the truck. But I’m not sure I did that correctly. As I checked it with two different amp meters and both were saying .60 amps while the truck was running, and I don’t know if the truck would even run with that low of a load. At this point I’m thinking about replacing the fuel pump assembly as a whole with a new fuel regulator. But I don’t know if that’s a smart move or I missing another step in the trouble shooting process. I’ve attached some photos and to be honest I really don’t know what a lot of these readings should be or if there is a give away in the information. Thanks in advance for anyone who is able to assist me.
