Injector circuit open Can’t find issueP0202 P0204 2004 4.0
Having issues with cylinder 2 and 4 fuel injectors throwing injector circuit open codes. Installed 6 new injectors. No Fix. With Key on Engine Off. Getting correct voltage to cylinder 2 and ground. Cylinder 4 is not getting any voltage nor ground. Any Ideas? Thanks
All 6 injectors will get 12volts on their red wire with key on, this wire is just daisy chained from one injector to the next, so they all share that one 12v wire
In 2004 you have Sequential fuel injection, that means each injector has its own ground wire that runs back to the computer, computer uses that ground wire to Open each injector
Ford uses low impedance injectors, 10-20ohms
So with key On the computer should "see" 12volts on EACH of the 6 ground wires, as the voltage passes thru each injector
Codes like P0202 or P0204 mean that the computer is NOT "seeing" that 12volts with key on, on #2 and #4 ground wires
This could be failed injector, no connection inside, could be bad 12v wire connection at that injector, could be a bad ground wire back to computer at that injector, AND, could be a bad "driver" in the computer for that injector
With injector plugged in and key ON, both wires on that injector should read 12volts

Injector 6 is pin 99
Injector 4 is pin 100
Injector 2 is pin 101
Same ground wire color on each injector will be at these pins, so if #2 injector has a white ground wire it will be same white wire at pin 101
You can test each wire at computer end and should see that same 12volts with key on
Could just be bad connection in the 104 pin connector, pull it and have a look for corrosion, 2 and 4 are adjacent pins, 100/101
(unhook one battery cable before pulling this connector, you can hook battery back up for testing once connector is off, then unhook battery again to put it back on)
If you have 12volts at those pins with key on then problem is likely in the computer which will get expensive to replace because its a 2004 with PATS and digital cluster
