Blower motor speed

I have a 2005 Ford edge 3.0 L. I have replaced the blower motor, blower motor switch, and blower motor resistor. When the switch is on 1,2,3 it blows about the same still. But, 4 blows really hard. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum

Just FYI
Blower motors get 12volts directly from engine fuse box, usually thru a relay that is activated when any selection but OFF on the vent control is selected
The ground for the blower motor is what passes thru the resistor block to adjust the lower speeds
High is a direct ground, and doesn't pass thru the resistor block

So if the problem is lower speeds only then its an issue with resistor block or control switch in the cab

Resistor block has 3 resistors in series, one after the other

Ground--------[resistor---(2)-----resistor---(3)---resistor]------------(4)------blower motor

Lowest speed(1) has no connection to resistor block, the resistor block is grounded in engine bay, so if blower has 12v then it will get the ground thru the 3 resistors, lowest speed
The speed switch is grounded in the cab
(2) will ground the resistor block from the cab by-passing the first resistor, so only 2 resistors and voltage goes up and so does blower speed
(3) will ground resistor block from cab bypassing 2 resistors so only 1 resistor and speed goes up again
(4) will also ground from cab bypassing all 3 resistors and highest speed

If High works then cab ground is OK
If Low works the Resistor block ground is OK

That leaves you with bad resistor block, or fault connector on resistor block(they get very hot)
"New" means never ever tested now-a-days, not it works, so grain of salt on an "new" part

But blower is OK, as is its fuse and relay, and both grounds
So you are down to wires 2 and 3 not grounding the resistor block between the resistors, so no med-low or med-high
I see 4 wires on resistor block
Black is ground in engine bay(1)
Light green/white stripe is med-low(2)
Yellow/red is med-high(3)
Orange/black is OUT to blower
High(4) is spliced to this orange/black wire before it gets to blower, but I have seen it with the other orange/black wire on the connector, so 2 orange/black wire in one slot

So light green and yellow wires are the issue, speeds 2 and 3
