PO125 coolant to cold
Just idling for 10min should get to 185-190degF
If doing it that way open the hood and start engine, turn on heater
Feel heater hoses and upper rad hose, should be cold of course
Wait 2 min and feel those hoses again
Heater hoses should be warming up, upper rad hose still COLD, no circulation
Then a few more minutes and feel again
Should be the same, heater hoses are hot and upper rad hose cool, this means thermostat is working
Thermostat controls circulation thru the radiator, and there should be no flow to radiator until coolant in the engine reaches 190+degF
If upper rad hose is heating up the same as heater hoses then thermostat is not working, its stuck open
