1989 2.3L cranks but won’t turn over
This truck has had a full tune up, new fuel pump, fuel filter, starter relay, ecc relay, battery, ICM, new fuses, and new battery wires. Besides a crankshaft sensor and alternator, I'm really running out of ideas. I tested the spark and it was kinda weak but definitely there, have yet to check pressure at the fuel rail but where should I go from here? I really wanna accomplish this on my own for once. Any feedback is appreciated!
Do the 50/50 test
Spray fuel into the intake and try to start engine(fuel = gasoline, ether, carb cleaner, brake cleaner)
If it starts, runs and dies then you have a fuel delivery issue
If it doesn't start/fire then you have a spark issue
50/50 instant results, no guessing
On the 2.3l or 2.5l Lima 4cyl engines there is also the timing belt to consider, they break or slip, so no start/fire on 50/50 test
Alternator can't cause a "no start" just a dead battery and no starter motor
