Need help identifying the little black box for my aftermarket headlights.
I bought used spec-d halo/ projector halogen headlights on ebay but one set is missing the little black box that I point to in the picture. The wires come out of the headlight (from the halo?) And go into the black box which is wired to the corner blinker bulb. I just need to know what that thing is so I can get another one.
the box has no numbers or letters but where the wires come out of the headlight it says 12v 02w
It's wired to the turn signal lamps? Is the lamp an LED? If so, it could be a resistor.
the last guy had it wired to the corner lamp that doesn't blink. I wired it up that way and now my blinkers don't blink on that side. I then cut the wires coming from that box and they still don't blink. I changed the blinker bulbs on both sides with new halogens and they all light up but they still don't blink on that side. I think I made it mad. Now I don't know what that black box is and my blinking lights on that side don't blink... the only thing that might be led is the halo.
Depending on the year of your truck, it might be something installed to keep the computer (canbus) from tossing out a code caused by using LEDs instead of incandescents.

there are no led lights except for the halos which are not hooked up. I just installed the headlight on the other side and the blinkers still work on that side. I'm thinking I disturbed the bulb socket or the wire harness for the blinker bulbs maybe. 2000 ford ranger with original headlight and blinker wiring btw.
You can get an LED Flasher unit for your year, easy to swap out
It works with LEDs or regular bulbs in any combination, it uses a timer instead of a thermal(stock) flasher unit

That will take LED/incandescent off the table
Ok thanks, good to know. Is that little black box in the picture a resistor? I'm missing whatever that is for the other headlight and I want to get one so my halos work.
