Leak
Leak
I know rain + wet carpet is a rite of passage, but every time I fix one leak (3rd brake fixture and gasket replaced plus a few more places) a new one appears. Now the carpet next to front doors is damp. Replaced top weatherstripping as is was all flat and torn, obviously didn’t help. Didn’t replace long strip around door frame as it didn’t look bad and was still soft with no cracks or holes, door drains are open. Water seems to be seeping from under the long piece of trim that snaps over the bottom sill next to door. Should I maybe bite the bullet and replace the stripping there also. If so, do I need to remove all of the trim seemingly holding it in (looks really labor-intensive)? I might add I live in a very cold, damp winter climate. Even without rain the carpets are clammy damp in the mornings.
Make sure there are no rust holes under the carpet
Run water into the cowl, it drains on both sides just in front of the doors, you will see where the water is coming out, IF the drains are clear
Because of the way Rangers, or pickups in general, sit, with back slightly higher than the front, the front floor of the cab is where any water leak will go/end up
And because the gas tank is on drivers side of Rangers they often lean slightly to drivers side
So drivers side front is where the water goes
If a vehicle has AC its on all the time to reduce moisture in the cab, and the extracted water drips out a drain hose under the heater/AC box in engine bay
If the drain gets clogged the extracted water will end up in the cab, usually passenger side but...................
All windshields are mounted to a Ridge that runs around the opening, just outside of the ridge is a valley that's is for holding moulding or trim pieces but also collects water
Water will sits in the valley at the lower corners and can cause it to rust thru which then leaks into the cab, down behind the kick panels on either side

Cleaned cowls, water drains in front of doors. This is a California truck, so very little, if any rust anywhere as it has lived in a mostly dry climate. None in windshield channel or floor. Dampness is only between the front and back of front doors, none under dash or around kick panel. AC doesn’t work, system is drained.
