2008 Ford Ranger 2.3L XL

Good afternoon, everyone! I decided to hop on here and ask a couple of questions since I'm currently trying to install a Pioneer MVH-S322BT. I connected the wires from the Pioneer stereo's harness to the harness that I bought (Metra 70-1771), which connects to the truck's integrated stereo harness. The stereo turns on and everything functions as it should, but I'm not getting any sound coming from the speakers. There's nothing wrong with the way I connected both harnesses together, but I do have a blue cable with a white stripe labeled as, "System Remote," that is not connected to anything. I watched a YouTube video of a guy mentioning how you must connect that wire with both 12 Volt Ignition/Swithched wires from both harnesses (color red). I tried it, but I didn't get any results. I was thinking it could perhaps be a bad fuse that controls the speakers, or it could be a short in one of the speaker wires in the harness. I think it could be the second option because my speakers worked perfectly fine prior to upgrading the stereo, and I also had the battery disconnected when working on the truck. I'm assuming the stereo is probably in a fail-safe mode due to the short circuit, but I'm not quite sure. Do any of you all have an idea as to what this may be?

Welcome to the forum

Rangers had different audio system options as early as 1990, basic Radio and Premium Radio that had a separate amplifier

Some of the diagrams are seen here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...ring-diagrams/
Below are the 3 I have for 2008, there could be more, lol

DO NOT hook up the green/orange wire from fuse 22 to ANY after market radio, its the MUTE in START wire, tape it off, do not pull out fuse 22 or engine won't start

Its a new radio so...................bad out of the box is a 25% chance these days
