2004 Ford ranger 2.3l. Went through 3 alternators, so i doubt it has to do anything to do with them, after 12-16 hr alternator voltage drops to 11.5v-12v, unhooking battery for 5 minutes fix problem. So i bet it's control unit in gauge cluster. Anyone put other alternator? Old school one, without electronic "smart control" just voltage regulator? If yes from which year, model?
