Identifying electrical wire in footwell of 2003 Ranger
Hi, I noticed this disconnected red cable in the footwell of my 2003 Ranger 2.3L. I assume my foot caught it at some point and ripped it apart. But, it's probably been that way for a while and I haven't noticed anything not working. I'm going to fix it, but I'm curious what its function is. Any ideas? Thank you!
Thanks. It comes out of a large multi-wire connector and disappears back into the footwell. I can't easily trace to anything specific. I re-connected it and can't tell what changed, so *shrug*
Once you reconnect it, check for current flow with an ammeter. If it's always 0, then there's nothing connected to it.
Given it's a standard, run-on-the-mill Plain Jane spade connector, it's not factory. So maybe it fired up something the previous owner installed, then removed when it was sold. My guess it powered a turbo encabulator.
