Ok, I will be acquiring a Superlift in short order and I already have a BL for the truck. I will be cranking the T-Bars up, my question is, Can I fit 37's on it. I don't offroad the truck very much but I do show it quite often. Reason I ask is because I would have to get new wheels as I have 18's on the truck now and it is a beotch to find a tire with some size for an 18" wheel without paying out the wazoo! But the 37x12.5x17 mtr's are everywhere at a decent price.

 

It looks like Zach has plenty of room, but he doesn't have fender flares and you may not be able to tuck those 37s as well as the 35s

 

the flares are the killer for you.

i think 37s would fit on mine with minimal rubbing at flex.

but i wouldnt run any bigger than 35s on our IFS, even if you are just driving down the road.

 

I guess. Back to the drawing board...

run a 35x12.x17 that would still look killer. otherwise. SFA.

 

Ok, just another quickie, can a 12.5" wide tire work on a 9" wide wheel? Or do I need to just go and get more wheels lol

 

Yeah Zach, SFA is in the works. But I really want to get the truck paid off and get another truck to drive and do the SFA right.

most 12.5" wide tires recommend 8.5"-10" wide wheels.

Not on a show truck! Just go with some 35s. Here's a link to some tire options for 18" rims with 35" tires.

Not really. I am on the phone with National Tire and Wheel talking about tire and wheel packages. I will just get some new wheels to go along with the new tires. There just isn't any offset really on the saleens.

I like the black wheels so I am looking into the the black street locks. But with new wheels I will probably stick with 15's as the tires are more affordable and available.

 

Ok, got a new path. 35x14.5x15" Super Swamper SSR's on 15x12 with 4" backspacing 152 Streetlocks.

Yeah. I hate to go with the norm and do the 35x12.5 route. But then again I need to be somewhat reliable.

 

why not use that wide of a tire but stick with a 15x10

wouldnt be any different than a 12.5" wide tire on a 8" rim like alot of people do.

 

It seems like every time we see someone do that, everyone is giving them grief about it...too wide for the wheel and whatnot. Not saying it isn't an option, but I don't want to have to fight back the chronic whiners.

but at the same time i just told you not to run 15x12. you know 12" is a foot! lol that is a wide a$$ wheel, and you will have rubbing issues in the front i bet.

 

I am still wondering why the 37's would be any worse than running wide **** 35's

But I see where you are coming from now. I will be adding Gil's bumpers as soon as he gets them out and will be adding glass front fenders as soon as I get them painted. Will prolly still rub the tbars though at a hard turn.

 

something else i have been thinking of is i want to do a SFA, no real commitment yet but i was also wanting new wheels. ive decided not to waste my money on new wheels becasue if you do a SFA, you wont want a 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

ah prolly no reall differnce from wide tires to narrow 37s, but you wanted wide 37s to begin with.

 

True. The hard part is finding the axle to throw under the front. I can't find one anywhere around me. I have a guy willing to do the work but we just can't find an axle for it.

And why is it that 35's are more expensive than 37's?
