Just got my gears

YEs my 4:56's came in today..so i ordered my 3inch Body Lift...can't wait until dec is over with....anyway anybody know a good place to get to install my gears for me in the DFW area? RoysOffroad Quoted me at like $450 just for installing them......so i'm searching for prices..please help lol

$450 is the going rate around here, if you can get it done for $200 then go for it, there is a lot involved in setting the lash in a ring and pinion and it takes some time.

Yeah, it's all labor. If you have the right gauge to measure the lash and a set of shims you can do it yourself. It's not rocket science, but it is "detail work".

The guys that do them down here, do them at least twice a week to different cars... So, they have come accustomed to doing it...

Gear swaps are very pop. down here...lol

the place that i went was called the mustang shop off of lamar here in dallas. the # is 214 421 3070 and his name is gerald he is a great guy and tell him that chris sent you that has the explorer. the only problem is that i know he is always busy so you should call him and see when he could get you in.

thanks chris i plan on geting them swaped in after i get back form mississippi this weekend...now this leads to another question 4:56's with 31's am i gonna be shoting threw the RPM roof on the interstate when i get this done until i get the bigger tires on it ?

sorry man.... i just but the first coat of poly on the floor. red and white oak, as well as on the workbench top. ill get some pics soon

on a side note you made my miss my bronco again....
