I am looking into getting some headers on my 4.0 SOHC if anyone has them with some pics I am interested to see how it looks and also if anybody knows the HP gain that I will get in adding them. I am thinkin JBA headers but I dunno what the best bang for the buck is. Let me know Thanks

Some performance noticable. The sounds is different. I recommend resetting the computer when they are installed.

I like them.

looks... they look good in the box.. once they are on you cant really see them unless u have a body lift or something.
i noticed some mid range ummph when i put them on.. my truck is stock other than the headers... i didnt notice a difference in sound thru the factory muffler.. i like it quiet since its a v6 and all v6's sound like crap in my opinion.. unless its a mellow sound and doesnt get nasty like a flowcrapper...

I've found that adding headers and not changing the tune will usually make the a/f about 3 points richer. (3/10ths of "1")

I'm not sure what a ranger PCM can/will/will not do with reduced back pressure. I do know that it will over time learn and adapt to it's environment.

So if you cleared the computer I'd *think* the PCM would in short order lean up the mix trying to get the a/f back to it's target.

btw, it does that not only with fuel & the idle air by-pass, but with timing too. Not WOT timing.. but part throttle timing.

YEah I took my chip off at the same time too. Trying to resolve a issue. But at any rate there is still a decent performance gain now that i have drove the truck some more.
