this morning my truck started to sputter. i drive an 03 xlt 5 spd 4.0 sohc. well i was coming to work this morning as i was trying to speed up it would sputter for like a min then take off does anyone know what causes that?

 

When was the last time you changed your spark plugs and wires? How about your air filter?

 

i have a brand new airaid air filter with a cover on it to help keep out dust and air and water and all that. the last time i changed the spark plugs was about 7 or 8 months ago and i change my oil around every 3000

 

what about your plug wires? if there is a bad wire it could cause it.

You could also have bad gas.


All in all, there are numerous problems that could cause "sputtering"

 

Clean your MAF. Might help.

My daughter developed a problem like that and I ended up having to replace hers.

I agree. If it did it momentarily then I'd look at the MAF and possibly not enough fuel being supplied when commanded.
