I'm actually looking for more mpg and not performance, have any of you actually found an improvment by installing one of these? Also, this would fit my 2007 4.0L Ranger right?

IMO all its going to do is void your warranty.

 

That will not fit your 07 due to the MAF sensor being different from earlier years. I think in 05 or 06 they changed to our style MAF sensors.

 

just take out the silencer of the existing intake, its free. most of these after market intakes are JUNK, you would just be sucking in the hot air from under the hood.

 

yeah I wasn't sure if it was going to fit anyways, but if it's not worth it then i'll stick with what I have, thanks guys.

 

Look at Volant.

 

You won't gain MPG from a aftermarket intake. If the filter is open to engine room heat you may see a very small increase.. but not much.


There are more effective ways to gain efficiency.
reduce drag. (speed, underdrive pullies, tire pressure, ect..)
Put less gas in. (X-cal tuner, HHO, ect..)
Reduce rpm (taller tires, hwy gears, ect..)

Also, if your exhaust is still in good shape.. there isn't really anything to be gained there either.
