the fab work actually looks decent on this one, I agree its to tall but thats an easy fix. wonder if the 4x4 actually works.

If it had some 38's on it, it would be sweet. Not that it isn't now.

 

if it had atleast a D44 and 37s.. maybe, and if he lost like 3-4" of lift..

andddddd if he got rid of the ghey blue colored links and coils.



its a show truck, i understand.. but I'll never understand the people that do that stuff.

Looks pretty good in my opinion. Of course it would need some bigger tires. I couldnt see paying $18,500 for it though. For that much you could go get a nice f150.

That "show" truck could do anything you do off road and more.

People do that because it's what they like. They spend money on something and want it to look nice not covered in mud and beat to hell.

Drop that truck 3-4" and you will not be fitting 37's.


I think it looks sweet, it would be perfect with some 38x15.50's if they'd fit.

 

A nice F-150 stock not sas'd. But I'll give you that he's nuts to think he's gona get the money he put into it back out of it. Trucks are toys not investments. Values only go down not up.


That's like sibling rivalry they used to always show up to the shows with $40k+ f/s stickers on their rides. I highly doubt they ever got it half their crap was rigged up pretty badly.

 

Exactly. That is their hobby that they spend their money on, which is fine.

Well you should NEVER put anything bigger than a 33 inch tire on a D30. IMO

lemme get a front drive shaft and gear/lock the rear and we'll see what that pwetty little truck can do, besides break axle shafts all day.

down 3-4" and hack the fenders, 37s would still fit and it wouldn't fall over just sneezing on it.


38x15.50s would make those axles explode even faster than those boggers would.

Yes, if you wheel it often. On the road with occasional wheeling a d30 can handle 35's fine. You got me thinking the Jeep boys all ran 35's not 38's so I really couldn't say if they'd be ok or not.

 

the wheel bearings and ball joints are still screaming for their lives..

its not just the shafts that are getting stressed with tires that big.

 

The whole point of having something nice is not to HACK it up or beat the snot out it.

If you are telling me you'd spend over $20,000 on a truck then put $10,000 worth of mods into it. Put countless hours and gallons of blood and sweat into it. Then go and beat the crap out of it so you have nothing to show off for all your work. Then sir I would say you have too much money or to little brains.

Oh and that truck is definitely a dd not a purpose built trail truck.

 

there are a ton of jeepers out there running more than 35s on a D30, to each his own i say.

Zach, you're actually a perfect example of a show/trail rig. You have built you're truck to be used off road. Built everything the right way. (ok the truck is the op has too weak of axel's) I would bet though on a normal day when you haven't been wheeling, people would think you have a pure show truck. It's clean, looks good and was built with taste. Not a sawzall and a torch.
