locked superchip tuners

okay, so here's the deal:

dad bought a truck and for some reason it came with two tuners, one for a gas truck, and one for a diesel truck. his truck is diesel, so that leaves the other tuner for me. here's the problem, they're both VIN locked to other vehicles. so they're fancy code readers at this point.

am i boned? if i send them to superchips, would they un-lock them for a fee?

it's stupid, but they were free, and that's the right price!

Yes, I believe if you call them up tomorrow and say you bought some used chips and needs tunes and would need them coded to your vin they'll do it for a price. Not sure how much the superchips one is though.

well, it's gotta be better than buying them new. i really wanted the SCT, but like a said, free is a step in the right direction, even if it does cost some coin to get it un locked. i guess i'll phone tommorow!

do they have to go to superchips directly, or would there be some sort of a regional distributor/custom tuner that could do it? i can only assume that superchips is based out of the USA, and sending stuff internationally is usually a PITA...

does anyone here have the superchips flashpaq tuner? are they worthwhile?

I think it's something you would have to deal directly with Superchips about.

I know there's a few members on here with it, but the general buy is the SCT for a tuner.

Well you gotta remember, the Superchips is just a set chip. The SCT is a tuner with multiple tunes and code reader.

it is? i know atleast for the powerstroke the superchips "max micro tuner" has multiple settings, for mileage and power and such... that's the one for dad's new truck.

not sure about the flashpaq. honestly, to me the most important feature is to correct the speedo, and second is transmission improvment, but according to superchips, it won't on a ranger(darn!). power increases and anything from there is just a bonus!

Superchips comes with three tunes and it reads your codes. Even comes with a manual to see what the codes mean.
