Is there any difference between the 4.0 put in the 03 and 04 Rangers?
I ask because they make a superchip for the 2004 model, but I'm not sure if it'll work on the 03's. Also, does anyone out there have one and might be able to give me a "consumer report".

 

The maf location is different, its built into the airbox.

I agree.. I talked to some people when looking for parts for my ranger ('04 4.0 sohc) and they said the only difference is the location of the MAF.

 

if you need something for an 03, i would buy one that is made for the 03.
a superchip isnt cheep.

 

Yeah, but they don't make them for the 03's that I know of. And they arent that expensive, about 400 for the microtuner.

i was also looking at a superchip for my 03 4.0 and ford said there was one..now idunno if its different cause its canada or what but ill phone in tomorrow and ask if they can find out and post back tomorrow.

 

cool, that would be nice if Ford DID make them for the 4.0, but I've had a look at the bamachips and I'm very interested in that. Particularly the switch chip.
