My 4.0 has about 72k on it with original spark plugs. Im thinking about changing them. Should i stick with stock motorcrafts or is there anything out that is really good for the sohc?? OH and also anyone here runing a screaming demon coil pack and is it any good?

Stock plugs work well in a stock engine. Motorcraft or Autolite will work just fine. If your coil pack is good I wouldn't spend the extra cash for the screamin demon. I have heard that Denso Iridiums will smooth out the idle a bit but I have never tried them.

Motorcraft or autolite plugs for these engines.
I wouldn't waste the money on "performance" coil packs.

If your stock.. then stick with the ford motorcrafts.

If your boosting it.. IMO a set of Denso-IT20 is the way to go. (check out my web page)

I replaced mine with Bosch Platinum +2's. No issues thus far. Run some Seafoam through your engine before you replace the plugs.

Not by much. Only buy the SD coil pack if your stock coil pack goes bye-bye.

Yep! Just make sure you get the 3.0 one. Most guys on here get them from this site:

http://www.stuffforyourranger.com/st...or_maintenance

But as you can see they are down at the moment.

Yep, Rangers have been around for a few decades now, along with other Ford models with the same drive trains.
