leak on gas tank

The back corner of my gas tank is always wet on the metal shield, w/ like ONE drop forming but nothing on the ground? The center of my rear end next to it is also a little damp on that side. I put my hand on top of the tank, near the vent fixture I guess, and all over the plastic tank and it is bone dry....it's only wet on the metal part on that corner.
I can not find any leak anywhere, tank, rear end, brake lines? It looks like the consistency of gas or brake fluid.

what does the mystery fluid smell like, brake fluid and fuel have 2 different smells. or you could taste it (I wouldn't, they don't taste good.)

In all honesty if it were brake fluid, your pedal should feel like crap, and your MC reservoir level would be dropping.

Driving through puddles?

I do not have AC.

I can not tell what the fluid is? It's just wet/damp, with ONE drop forming on the bottom corner. If I clean it off, ONE drop will form again the next day....but nothing on the ground?
I'll look again today while I change my exhaust.

Hotter than hell here. But that's been the case as long as West Texas has existed. But happily we got rain the past 2 days. Everyone is ecstatic. Nice cool, rainy days. makes you want to go back to bed, which makes work much less productive.
