4.0 aftermarket intake manifold

Does anyone make an aftermarket intake manifold for an 03' 4.0L? I want to port and polish my heads and wont to follow it up by doing the same to the intake manifold...but wait...its plastic, cant do that! OR did they make metal intake manifolds on 4.0's of a previous year that would fit my truck??

I missed the 12 year old post because I joined just 2 years ago.
a) I'd ask manifold companies like Eidelbrock if they offered any.
b) Being that the 4.0l SOHC is a workhouse engine of the queerest type (bank 1 facing the wrong way), I'd bet no company does. The 4.0l OHV (your '97) has a better shot.
c) Being plastic I doubt any smoothing of the intake is needed. Inspect for flashing.

Morana Racing has a metal 4.0l SOHC intake: Tom Morana Racing Engines

Scroll down, it about 3/4 of the way down

Nothing blasphemous was intended. Sorry if I offended anybody. However, engine removal to do a timing chain is quite extreme, no?

I was more curious about the "Bank 1 facing the wrong way" part

I think "facing the wrong way" meant there is a timing chain at the rear of the engine, when most have the one or all timing chains up front

He's essentially asking why Ford contracted a blind engineer to build the 4.0 SOHC due to there being no logic in the layout of the motor and components lol

It was less expensive to do it that way, on most OHV V6 or V8 engines the left and right heads are the same, interchangeable

This is for the most part true for the 4.0l SOHC just some minor differences
To do timing chain(s) only on the front would be a whole new casting for the right head
