have a question about the 2.3 water pump

have a question about the 2.3 water pump

im having to change my water pump, im confused because a mom and pop shop said my water pump is behind my timing belt, but a diff place is telling me its not, im going to change it at school tonight if not do it in the morning. i just am trying to find out really quick so i know what im getting into. thx guys

Water pump is not behind the timing belt you don't have to touch the timing belt just remove your serpentine belt d/c all hoses from the water pump and remove the bolts holding the pump to the block.
