Do all rangers have crappy fuel gauges?

Maybe its just me, but my fuel gauge is horrible. I can watch it slowly float around from E to almost 1/4 of a tank sometimes, and sometimes it says I've used 1/4 of the tank after only like 35 miles, but then it stays at 1/2 for longer than normal. I know my truck is supposed to have a 19 gallon tank, and when its on E it always only takes 15-16 gallons to fill. So is it just my truck or do all rangers have crappy fuel gauges?

Are there cars with awesome fuel gauges?

My 77 F150 is pretty bad, but I noticed on inclines and stuff it moves around, but isn't that expected with the floats that measure how much is in there?

I dont have a single issue with mine. It will drop if you stop on a hill at a light, but it comes back up within 5 mins. I dont have any quick drop issues, or holding issues. And when the light comes on I usually put in 17-18 gallons.

Strange... Maybe my truck was built on a Wednesday not Friday or Monday...

Mine's just as bad. I was really surprised to find out I had a 19 gallon tank lol. Since the needle will be on E and it only ever takes 15 gallons or so to fill, I figured the tank size was like 17 gallons. At least mine is consistent, and I'd rather have more gas left then the other way around.

Mine stays pretty consistent until I get down to 1/4 tank. Then sometimes when I come to a stop the needle will drop to E, but then when I take off it will rise back to a 1/4 tank.

mine doesnt do that mine is pretty good.

but the 07 focus sometimes i fill it up and it stays empty for 5-10 min. or if i shut if off and i have a quarter tank i will turn it back on sometimes and it will say a half it dives me nuts.

My 03 Ranger's had a mind of its own but my 85 F-150 had dual tanks and the gauge worked perfect with those.

my '01 does the same thing: drops down to 3/4 full after driving only 40 miles, hovers around 1/2 tank for a long time, then at E there is still 5 gallons of gas in the tank.

I think it has something to do with the sending unit because I have an autometer fuel gauge in my truck and it still does it, if not worse.

My '02 isn't too bad, but still not great. My '90 would sit on 3/4 tank for the longest time, then plunge down to near empty.

I used to have a '71 F100 that only went down to a quarter tank. Guy I bought it from didn't tell me, and I found out the hard way.
