’88 Ranger STX, 5.0L

Found some pics of my 1st Ranger, a 1988 STX with a ’93 5.0, C4 auto, 4.10s and 32s.
I am not much for lifting too high, still there too, I want an SAS on the 2003 but with only 5”of lift.

The fist picture taken:

Coming out of a trail in NH:

This is the one that got the bug started and it has continued for over 20 years.

To answer all of the above… yes I wish I had never got rid of it, it was the first, as other things that are first , you never forget the fun time you had.

I sold it to a guy that ended up tearing it apart for the 5.0 Conversion package, I asked to buy the truck back but was told it was already in the JY... heat broken, tear coming to my eye, LOL !

It was a great truck, did some awesome power burns and to all that wonder the 7.5 held up to the 5.0 without a problem, maybe the automatic trans that helped.

taking it all in stride these days, just packing and doing a little Ltr’g.

the flag goes up in SoCal soon…

Ya when you have 3000 Slides in storage, haven’t looked at them in a while and you decide to scan them all, 4 at a time and you find a few of old trucks. What really $ucks is deciding the correct way to put them in the scanning rack.
12 Carousels down a few more to go and then we have the cases of sorted slides in little cubes.
It will be good when they are all scanned, already sent a to the daughter and she and her new husband are LOL over them.

The pre92 and even the pre-89 were the best looking Rangers but the cabs were a little too tight for 6’2”s.
The 03 and I don’t know when they did it, but the newer cabs are longer and way more comfortable to be in.

I would always like to go back to get another one of these BUT a new Raptor would be good too.
If it wasn’t for the premium I have heard they are asking for them I might already have one.
Will wait until I get to SoCal, I have heard there is a Ford Dealer there that give an additional 10% off at the end to Veterans, that will cover the new Sale Tax.

Actually you can get a F150 Platinum for less money and it is a 4-door and actually a step up in the models, funny.
