2010 Shelby prototype rear diff cover is just about done!!

Over the winter I bought this rear Diff cover and it came with a cool story. This is one of 7 2010 shelby prototype diff covers. Apparently the man who desinged these at Ford, felt the company didnt need the prototypes so he sold them. He got into some trouble and had to buy them all back, except for the one I got. The guy I got this from refused to return it no matter what the price was at the time. The serial numbers on it cant even be found by Ford themselves lol! So here it is, Color matched and clear coated and ready to go on my truck!

Thank you

The Ford employee sold them for about 75.00, his last plea to get it back was 300.00 lol

The Ford employee had to get it back. He was supposed to destroy them but was caught selling them.

I was thinking the same... sand the paint off the edges and then put some clear over it!

I was going to hand paint the edge of the fins silver.

I hear ya on that, but to me its worth it to be on my truck. It wants to be used, not hung on a wall lol

unless you plan on selling it, who cares about value. besides, just because it's "rare" doesnt mean it will be worth anything. the story is all word of mouth, and not that I dont believe you, but nobody will pay much for something based on a story with no verification. It's better to use it, make it look good, and just know yourself the story. It's not as if people will see that and say, wow thats a mega rare shelby diff cover!

I agree with you on that, it was the story given to me....sounds cool, I verified the serial number being non existant but, beyond that, its purpose is to be used and look good. I wanted something like that for the truck and I got it, whether its a prototype or not, I don't care, it will look good once its on and thats what I want.
