because dealers generally rip you off on a trade in
example. Test drove an 05 scion (in 05) to get free tickets to an amusement park.
At the time i had a 96 integra that i paid $5k for about 3 months prior to this test drive. Dealer had the audacity to offer me $2600 for it on "trade in"
Furthermore, at least this man used to have a ranger ..... and i know of another member here who went from a zr2 TO a ranger, and nobody was hating on his zr2 and had good things to say about it (got totalled)
the intolerance for other makes of vehicles on this site is starting to get old.

While I agree with you, this IS a board for Rangers. People are obviously going to hate on other rigs if they aren't Rangers.

I know this is a board for rangers, but i think there should be some level of acceptance for people who choose a different rig if they decide to move on.
I still post on a civic board (havent had a civic since 04) and those guys are ok with me over there, even after i completly jumped ship last year and got the truck (after the civic i had 2 more hondas)

ZR2's are nice rigs IMO. There's so much aftermarket support for them. I don't know if I would buy one now, after the last 3 GM vehicles I've owned were the biggest POS's I've ever had.
Actually, a couple years ago I nearly bought a 2002 Sonoma SLS 4x4 crew cab. Went back a few days later with my down payment and they had already sold it. I was SO pissed off.

IMO you have to look were I came from, I had a 20 year old truck, that had the sucky tranny, and the sucky rear end, plus it was open diff. The springs were wore out, the cab was rusted all over. It had never once been properly maintained. It had pretty much be to hell and back. And that was befor I got it. And after that, I took a lot better care of it but I still beat on it like a bass drum, so its no big surprise to me that it just died. It had a top speed of 55 mph. I never figured that one out. So cut me a little bit of slack if I get a lil excited. Compared to my ranger, the ZR2 is an upgrade in every way except in brand name. But my ranger felt tougher. And to me that makes all the difference in the world, so as soon as I get this thing paid off, im gonna try to get back into a ranger. In the mean time I have a nice 2.3 lima, and 2wd tranny to go into the body of my old ranger. I figure that, along with a exploder diff, will give me a nice little trail beater. So im still gonna be in the club, but until I get that done, ill just take my ZR2 and make the whole forum look a little bit better in comparison.
