Doesn't she have a nice Rack!

lol... bought Chads Roof Rack (Grant's "G'sevo" old rack). it is a 3 piece rack and took the center section out, its just laying up there now for idea's

have 2 options i am playing around with..

1) alum mounts with reinforcing the roof like i did the roof rack on grants cap..(about 1" or so how grants truck looked)

2) getting a 1998-2001 like roof rail system. cutting it down and putting the end caps back on it for a clean look and mounting it to the rails. then reinforcing the roof.. (as high as a rails on an explorer...

thats the plan.. hehehehe

it wont be holding a tire just like bags and stuff... tire is going in the bed on an angle tire mount

well to sit on the mounts it will be at least like 1" higher it isnt anything to stress about.. ever remember grants truck with the rack mounted will be the same system being my dad is the one that made the mounts

I don't really like the looks of it on a stepside. If it won't be holding a tire, just bags, it kinda screams out "tourist" which makes me dislike it even more.

envision 12 lights

our roofs can NOT handle tires even with the reinforcing i will be doing.. unless i go hogwild and put a roll cage in it.. which in time it will have..

personally i love the look... and its somewhere to mount lights.. come on winks, i have to have lights!!!

I've seen them with tires on them with no reinforcement, its doable! I may be swayed with the lights, but with no tire.... I dunno.

it will be a good mounting point for a shovel, high lift jack, and all those freakin lights...

even the rack alone is bowing the roof just sitting up there...

Deffinally gonna reinforce the roof...

ya thats the plan shovel, lights maybe high jack that might be in the bed idk yet..
